3 Tips for Social Media Marketing

Have you ever wondered what the point of social media marketing is? I believe that social media is the new "word of mouth." How many times have you seen on facebook from a friend, "Can you Recommend a good....?" How many times have you clicked on a page, tweet, instagram page or website that a friend liked, tagged, posted about or shared?

Why does that matter?

71% of consumers who have experienced a positive social media interaction with a brand are likely to recommend that brand. (Ambassador)73% of businesses believe that social media has been "somewhat" or "very effective" for their business. If you are wondering how to create your Social Media Platform, here are a few tips to help make your business stand out.

1. Set goals- Decide on the purpose for your social media. Is it to create authority, cultivate followers, sell product, or have your business be the first thing that pops into their head? Setting goals will help guide your posts and help you create a posting schedule that won't leave you frustrated when trying to decide what to post.

2. Understand your Customer- Who is your target audience or ideal customer? Tailor your posts to fit your "character." Do your research; who is your ideal customer and who do you want to target as a future prospect?

3. Create Authority- Who are you as a business? Why should people listen to you or buy your product? Creating a sense of authority on your product or service provides the customer with a feeling of safety and builds loyalty which will lead to a sale.

And most important, have fun. Social Media should be entertaining and authentic.
